Sunshine history

In 1993, Elisabeth and Robert Herz bought Sunshine Laundry. The original business had been long established and well-known, but lost momentum and struggled with the challenges of the ever increasing technical transformation of the industry. When Elisabeth and Robert bought the business, it was on the brink of closure, having been reduced to a single ironer and a very small washing facility.

With dedication and sound management, the business saw a quick turnaround and started the journey to reclaim its spot as trusted supplier to businesses across Australia (or is it ore local…??). It has since gone from strength to strength, growing in scale, capability and reputation. The successful transformation of the company is down to our committed policy of constant improvement in quality and service.

In 1999, building on its growing success, Sunshine Laundry acquired a competitor with Dry Cleaning operations (Silver Star Laundry and Dry Cleaning). New premises were secured and the two businesses became Sunshine Linen Services.

The very next year, the 2000 Sydney Olympics organising committee chose Sunshine as table linen supplier for all its Olympic venues. Amidst a gruelling schedule over a concentrated period of time, the Sunshine team delivered impeccable service without a hitch. Supplying table linen for the largest event in Sydney’s history gave us an incredible boost of confidence that’s inspired us to diversify our supply, client base and services.

Our focus today is as it’s ever been: provide outstanding quality and service at unbeatable value. Supplying a complete range of linen and laundry services, our valued customers include Australian government institutions, major hotels, fine dining restaurants, prestigious venues, catering companies as well as retirement communities and burgeoning short term rental companies. Our loyalty and commitment to our many friends and customers who have supported us since the beginning inspires us to continuously innovate and improve our offering.

The future

As a result of our pledge to sustained betterment, we are currently undertaking an ambitious program that will not only increase our capabilities and boost the quality of our service but will also introduce “World’s Best Practice” technologies in the field of water and energy efficiency. Our customers will continue to enjoy the highest level of quality services but in an environmentally friendly way.
